Multilingual learners and their families belong in our communities, but do they feel a sense of belonging? How does belonging shape their school and classroom experiences? How can we leverage and amplify students’ assets to create a culture of care and curiosity where all learners belong? This session examines these questions through the lens of VIPs, the very important people whose interplay of identities and experiences directly shape the classroom and school experience: multilingual adolescents, their peers, and the caring adults who guide them.
