The 2024 Ellevation Scholarship is now open!

Ellevation will be awarding ten $2,000 scholarships to deserving EL high school seniors who are continuing on to higher education. Since we began our scholarship program in 2018, we have supported dozens of students across the country as they continue their education journey with direct scholarships to the student account of their college or university of choice. This year, the scholarship funds awarded will be able to be used beyond the cost of tuition to assist students in addressing a number of additional financial stressors that arise in the transition to higher education.

How the scholarship can be used:

This year, the scholarship funds may be used at the discretion of the individual student to absorb costs that accrue as they prepare for college. An important step in the journey to truly equitable education opportunities is addressing barriers including financial stressors that accompany higher education. Those transitional costs students will be able to use the scholarship for include:

• The purchase of technology such as laptops, monitors, etc.
• Costs of travel/moving for school such as flights, dorms supplies and furniture
• The cost of school supplies including textbooks and other necessities
• To reimburse out of pocket costs for tuition

Eligibility requirements for applications:

• Be a high school senior who has been enrolled as an English Language Learner (ELL) at some point during their K-12 education.
• Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four- year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire 2024-2025 academic year 

Scholarship payments will be sent directly to the recipients by the end of July 2024, prior to the start of the fall semester. Applicants will be considered based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, and a statement of educational and career goals.
