More flexible forms, faster workflow completion: See what’s new in Ellevation Forms
If you missed our previous blog, click here to discover the new Forms features we’ve added to enhance capabilities and provide more robust EL program support. In this blog, we’re focusing on Forms updates that are providing educators with a more flexible, efficient approach to meeting compliance requirements.
Enhanced content configurability to meet to meet unique requirements
No two states or districts have identical processes around compliance. Our team has developed a number of new features in Forms to go beyond a one-size-fits-all approach. These updates ensure teachers have the context and adaptability they need so that compliance reinforces their larger goals for English learners.
Provide context for meeting compliance requirements
In these complex processes, it is instrumental to be able to personalize communication between EL teams and teachers to reduce confusion. Now, educators can add their own unique messages in email notifications requesting teacher input, empowering them with the flexibility to tailor messages based on state and district specific needs. Teachers receive the context and guidance they need to be confident in completing forms.
Make informed student decisions
Compliance data often focuses on test scores and proficiency levels, but additional insight from teachers around students’ engagement and progress over time provide a holistic student view. Forms now allows users to require comments before submitting for fields like classroom observations to ensure this information is captured. Collecting and storing this crucial context on students leads to more accurate decision making around providing appropriate support and tailoring additional support effectively.

Some aspects of compliance require a more robust dive into a student’s education history or background. Our new Document Review feature allows any educator who has been assigned a form to easily access documents that have been saved to the Student Profile, such as student work samples or goals documents created by the district.
Saving educators time and effort for workflow completion
There are a variety of benefits to streamlining compliance workflows: reducing administrative burden so educators can focus more on instruction, minimizing inconsistencies in data reporting, and facilitating earlier adjustments to instruction for ELs who could benefit from additional support - just to name a few! We’ve narrowed in on a few key upgrades to Forms that will speed up the compliance process and save educators valuable time.
Simplified navigation and visual tracking of forms
New Forms features remove visual clutter and provide at-a-glance tracking of forms progress to make it easier for teachers to stay on top of assignments. Educators can see the status of all students’ forms right in the Student List to quickly check progress. They can also view all assigned forms for a student and their status in the Forms tab on the Student Profile. Finally, users can view the status of forms for multiple students on the sidebar when navigating through each form.
We’ve also added a red icon to notify users of un-submitted forms and to more easily see where forms are located - helping ensure that forms are completed on time.

For an even cleaner viewing experience, districts can now archive cycles to focus only those that are active - but can still view historical data as needed.
More flexibility in forms
Compliance processes can be complex, but editing forms to meet district needs doesn’t have to be. Admins can now add students to workflows directly from our Student List and Student Profile features, without requiring them to navigate back to the cycle overview page. Additionally, districts can configure a cycle with multiple student list views, making it easier to set up a cycle with the right students, even when faced with complex student criteria. Alternatively, when relevant students are not known or need to be added on a rolling basis, cycles can also now be configured with no student list views. These processes are more flexible than ever to accommodate a variety of different users and needs.
Streamline signatures
With tight deadlines and multiple approvals needed, collecting signatures can bottleneck form submission. We’ve added a signature section to all forms so users can view contributors and their signatures on both digital and printed forms. Understanding what is still needed for form completion now takes one less click. In addition, district administrators can turn on permissions for certain users to be able to sign on behalf of another contributor on a form. This added flexibility will minimize delays and enable more efficient form completion.
With these updates, Forms is making compliance smoother, more adaptable, and less time-consuming, helping educators stay focused on supporting their English learners.
